CACE 21 PROJECT COORDINATOR JOB LISTING
Wa Na Wari is seeking a highly motivated, organized, community minded individual to join our Central Area Cultural Ecosystem for the 21st (CACE 21) organizing team. CACE 21 is our land use policy change organizing initiative, the Project Coordinaror will play a key role in the success of this program.
The primary task for the CACE 21 Project Coordinator for the calendar year 2021 will be to support CACE 21 Homeowner and Cultural Worker Survey Administration. This person will work directly with CACE 21 Project Manager and Lead Organizer in the work of managing the survey program.
The CACE 21 Project Coordinator will be a public facing position requiring excellent customer service and communication skills. For many community members this person will be the first, and most consistent, point of contact with our survey program. The person filling this position should have excellent listening and oral and comprehension skill, be patient, kind, have and even temperament, understand social etiquettes common for seniors in African American culture, and be willing and able to learn and be responsive to communication norms amongst members of various African immigrant and diasporic communities as well.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support CACE 21 Project Manager and Lead Organizer in the execution of the CACE 21 survey program and organizing work.
2. Support lead organizer in identifying and recruiting survey respondents from the community
3. Support community members who want to register to take the survey (answer questions and provide guidance)
4. Administer the intake of survey respondents for those that need assistance (make sure they are registered properly and have all the information they need to take the survey
5. Assign survey respondents to a Survey Administrator
6. Respond to and address the needs of survey respondents as they pertain to taking or completing the survey.
7. Confirm completion of survey sessions.
8. Issue and track survey respondent stipends
9. Effective execution of other tasks as deemed necessary to support the successful completion of the CACE 21 survey program and organizing objectives.
When the primary duties for the CACE 21 surveys are completed, new duties will be assigned in accordance with the next phase of the organizing work.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Strong personal connection to Seattle’s Central District
2. Ability to create and maintain trusting relationships with Black homeowners and cultural workers
3. Capable of being committed to Wa Na Wari’s mission, vision and values and the organizing goals of the Central Area Cultural Ecosystem for the 21st Century (CACE 21) organizing project.
4. Strong written and oral communication skills
5. Capable of managing systems e.g., communications, team supervision and evaluation for effectiveness and efficiency
6. Ability to develop trusting relationships with diverse individuals from many different backgrounds including age, culture, faith, household type, and education
7. Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information
8. Passion for working in the nonprofit sector
9. Comfort with computers, familiarity with office software and online platforms, MS Office and Google Suite for example. Eventbrite, Qualtrics (preferred, not required).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
1. This is a part time .5 FTE position. Hourly rate is $30 hr / $2,400.00 per month
2. You will be initially hired as an independent contractor and will be responsible for your own tax withholdings and filing. As Wa Na Wari establishes its internal systems (including payroll), there may be an opportunity to become an employee.
